DAY 7: Talk To A Dietician

healthy_foodsWe all bear some degree of dietary ignorance. I don’t mean that in a negative way other than it is the reality. We all can learn something new about nutrition. What are clean foods? What is a low-fat diet? What are the differences between and proteins, fats, and carbohydrates? What should I eat before and after a workout? What’s an excellent late night snack? What’s the best nutritional plan for me and how can I get the proper foods into my daily diet?

Here’s how I’d answer those questions. Talk to a dietician. But, before you talk to anyone, learn the difference between a dietician and a nutritionist. The titles are not interchangeable though both the nutritionist and dietician are food and nutrition experts. Check credentials before consulting an expert. Make the appointment to review your goals and create an action plan to achieve them.

Gaining a better understanding of nutrition was a big part of my success. For me, I had to unlearn some eating habits and learn some new ones. I discovered what my body needed to be healthier. It’s amazing how a little bit of knowledge can revolutionize personal practice.
