DAY 25: Go Shopping

store-retailingWhen you lose a few pounds and you feel your clothes getting baggy, do everyone a favor and by some new clothes. I know there’s a tension here. We like the fact our clothes have gone from tight to baggy. A part of us wants others to notice and they do when the clothes get big.

When you lose some weight and drop a pant or shirt size, celebrate by buying some new clothes. It’s a treat. You’ll enjoy going into the dressing room with smaller sizes and finding they fit. Mentally it’s a huge win. There’s something about fitting into a smaller size that creates momentum for the continued journey.

For me, this was a big push to continue to my goal. I would lose some weight and then buy the next size pants. Then, drop a few more pounds and buy the next size. It’s funny before I lost weight, I didn’t like buying clothes. I didn’t want to admit my reality or the larger size. After I lost the weight, I actually enjoyed buying the new stuff.

Reward and encourage yourself with some new clothes as you shed a few pounds.
