Okay, I actually did the Google search thing after the video. And, guess what? I got many of the same responses. Wow, this really causes one to pause. While perception may not mimic reality, it’s often more powerful and readily believed than reality. So, this is what some people think about Christians? My first assumption of course is that maybe this is how non-Christians view Christians. Maybe it’s the outside looking in – maybe. But, then it struck me, maybe some of the suggested results were because of Christians searching. Kind of like the inside looking in. It’s not an unlikely thought. People do get hurt in churches as well as by other Christians – sometimes well meaning and other times not.
If we’re going to be totally upfront, there’s no doubt people were offended by Jesus – and they should have been – because their self absorbed living was in sharp contrast to His message and life. But, on another note, sometimes Christians behave badly (myself included) and we do more harm than good with our words and actions. Be wise, be careful, and live well in grace.
