Celebrating the Special Needs Ministry at Cool Spring

specialneedsumbrellaWe’re passionate about a number of things at Cool Spring. One of those is working with individuals and families with special needs. Whether it’s in Bridge Builders on Sundays, Challenger Sports on the weekends or any number of other opportunities, we’re committed to working with special needs. Our Missional Goal this year is to train an additional 100 people in inclusion training. We’re working to expand the number of equipped volunteers who will serve seasonally or throughout the year. I’ve witnessed first hand the impact our special needs ministry at Cool Spring has made in the lives of individuals and families. This is perhaps one of the most underserved segments in Hanover County.

Our first training for 2015 was last Sunday. Would you believe we had 140 people present for training? Isn’t that incredible! While some were there for refresher training, over half of those present had never been through Special Needs Training before at Cool Spring. I’m thrilled by the response!

Are you a parent of a special needs child? Do you have a friend or family member with a special needs child? Why not introduce them to Cool Spring? To discover more about the Special Needs Ministry at Cool Spring visit our website at www.coolspring.org/specialneeds.
