We’re in the Second Week

35days_800x600We’re in the second week of 35 Days at Cool Spring. It is our home grown effort encouraging good choices and movement. How do we make healthier food choices and establish meaningful exercise routines? I am convinced that if you can change habits, you can change a life.

I’ve learned a few things leading up to 35 Days:

I think we hit a nerve. In the early planning stages, we thought that if we registered 35 to 50 participants we would have a successful first run. Wow, were we ever surprised!  We ended up having to cap registration due to an overwhelming response. This tells me we hit a nerve with people – in a good way.

We struggle to create and maintain healthy habits. We struggle understanding nutritional content. We struggle with clean eating. We struggle with balance. We also struggle with creativity in meaningful movement or exercise. The truth is a little wisdom can go a long way.

Groups make a difference. In community you experience accountability, challenge, camaraderie and encouragement for developing new habits and routines.

Just start. That’s the foundation of a movement. You’ve gotta start from some point to arrive somewhere.You don’t have to dream about becoming healthy one day, it starts today.
