Don’t panic – God is fighting for you!
I have several friends walking through significant trials right now. Some of these challenges are daunting and overwhelming, to say the least. Recently God brought me to Exodus 14. It’s where God is delivering Israel out from Egypt. I can’t shake a couple of God’s statements. He told Moses, “I have planned this to display my glory…after this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” God had this; it was all a part of His plan. His plan wasn’t just for Israel, but for Egypt too. Even when tempted to doubt God’s sovereignty, I need to remember He has this and for a greater purpose.
Later, the people of Israel would be camped along the shore as Pharaoh approached with his army. The people panicked. Moses said, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” I love that – what promise, comfort and reassurance. You can’t fight it, but He most certainly can. All you have to do is trust Him. Be still today and watch the Lord’s rescue. He’s fighting for you! As God created a path of escape through the water, He paved the way with a strong east wind, a demonstration of His power. The east wind begins a new day for Israel.
Overwhelmed? God has this! He will display His glory through it. Everyone will know He is God. When you feel backed into a corner, don’t panic – don’t fear! Sit back, depend on Him and watch the Lord rescue you. God will fight for you. Never, never, never forget He’s with you.
