I’m Thankful for the Men and Women in Law Enforcement

SheriffWe’re called to respect our leaders – those God places over us. For the Christ follower, it really is a non-negotiable. I’m referring to governmental leaders, spiritual leaders, teachers and the like. More specifically in this post, I’m highlighting law enforcement personnel. These men and women are our partners in community peace. They’re charged to serve and protect; I’m grateful for our officers! Their lives are on the line each day in the promotion of peace, law and order. I’m deeply troubled by the recent national events where police officers were ambushed and murdered. This cannot continue! As people of peace, let us do two things. First, let’s pray for the men and women who serve their communities well. Ask God to protect them while providing grace for their families during these troublesome days. Second, let’s take a moment to express gratitude to local law enforcement personnel. Now more than ever, they need to know our respect, admiration and appreciation.

I realize there’s always a bad apple in every bunch, but the one is never representative of the whole. There are dishonest doctors, lawyers, ministers, and salespersons. Not all doctors, lawyers, ministers and salespersons are dishonest. Many are out there working hard to earn your trust. There are bad cops, but there are so many more good ones. I personally know several law enforcement officers and I’m proud of each one. Thank you for serving, protecting, caring and working for the good in our community. I pray for you and I really appreciate you!
