Q Commons is Coming to Cool Spring

I’m looking forward to Thursday, March 3, 2016. Q Commons is coming to Cool Spring Baptist Church for the first time.

Q Commons’ purpose is to equip christians to engage our cultural moment. What is culture? According to Andy Crouch, culture is what human beings make of the world. What are we making of our world?

On that Thursday, we’ll consider how to advance the common good in Mechanicsville, Hanover and our region.

You’ll here from national speakers such as David Kinnaman, Andy Crouch, Precious Jones, Eugene Cho and Julie Mavis. You’ll engage topic titles like Mentoring in Community; Immigrants and Refugees; Foster Care and Adoption; The Irrelevance of Faith; Leading in a Skeptical Culture and The Future of Neighboring. Also, we will host three local presenters that evening.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary Connections Coffee and a variety of desserts. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. The early bird discounted price is $25.00 per person through February 15th. There are special rates for groups and couples, too.

Personally, I become a fan of Q Ideas and its format last year when I attended my first Q Conference in Boston. It’s an incredible format bringing necessary conversations to the forefront. What is it like? It’s like a Ted Talk with a Christian mission.

I can’t wait; I hope you’ll join us.
