What Are You Reading?

Books

Learning is a major function in the leader’s life. When an influencer learns, he/she gains an edge. Reading is an instrumental tool in learning. As Christian leaders, we ought to be immersed in Scripture (the regular intake and application). We should also be intentional in reading other works to help inspire and inform our thinking. Even if you don’t “like” to read, reading is an invaluable way to learn.

So, what have you read recently? What are you currently reading or plan to read?

My personal goal is at least a book a week. Do you have a goal?

I recently finished:

The Crucified Life: How To Live Out A Deeper Christian Experience by A.W. Tozer

Under Our Skin: Getting Real About Race – And Getting Free From the Fears and Frustrations That Divide Us by Benjamin Watson

I’m currently reading:

Anatomy of the Soul: Surprising Connections Between Neuroscience and Spiritual Practices That Can Transform Your Life And Relationships by Curt Thompson

Next in the stack:

Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work by Tim Keller

Primary Greatness: The 12 Levers of Success by Stephen Covey

Make 2016 a learning year – a growing year.

That sounds like a great list of books! I’m putting The Anatomy of The Soul in my Amazon cart now. I’m currently reading Recovering Redemption – A gospel-saturated perspective on how to change by Matt Chandler. Next on my list is Blink – The power of thinking without thinking by Malcolm Gladwell.

Cool Spring is blessed with a wonderful library. If there is any church member who wishes to answer Brad’s challenge, please come by and browse our collection of great Christian books. I just finished You’ll Get Through This by Max Lucado. Too many books in my future to list!
