iServe is Finally Here!

iServe_social2iServe is here. We’re at 80+ projects and over 1,200 registered strong. Incredible! I’m nearly speechless. We’re giving God something to bless this weekend. iServe is everybody serving; the body of Christ being the body of Christ. Thank you Cool Spring for embracing the challenge.

When iServe was launched, some people thought we were crazy. “You’ll never get 1,000 people to participate,” we heard. Well, look at what God did 1,200 people later!

As you step into community remember why you serve. You exist to glorify God. How do you give Him glory? You give God glory by serving. Remember 1 Peter 4:10-11. We serve because the greatest human need is for forgiveness and reconciliation with God. Every action for good touches the spiritual. God will utilize your every act of service this weekend.

As you’re loving community this weekend, listen to conversations, observe and pray. What is God saying to you? How is He opening your eyes to the needs of others? Is God calling you to step out of your “zone” and serve in a specific capacity? My prayer is for this weekend to begin a new moving of God in our community.

At Cool Spring, we’re all about living connected. We’re connected to each other, to our community, but most importantly to Christ.

Serve well this weekend…

Wow, that is fantastic!! God is at work among his people at Cool Spring Baptist. Let us all be Christ’s hands and feet as we go out.

I’m not sure why but just thinking about this weekend makes me cry. It’s such a honor to be allowed to be a part of this amazing task. Normally I would worry if we had major weekend plans but I’m feeling so much excitement about going out and cleaning up a shut ins yard. Even though she will not be able to understand what we are doing and may not even recognize me on Satursday or may not even know we are in her yard, none of it seems to matter to me. What a weekend this will be to be the hands of feet of our Lord! Bring it!

Laura, you are so right. Simply being the hands and feet. Thank you for serving and for the awesome job your team did!

Janet, you are so right! This can’t be something short lived or a one-time deal. I too pray this is just the beginning!
