Here is Kari Jobe and Brian Johnson’s rendition of Forever. What an incredible song! We sang this last Sunday. Powerful is the word that comes to mind. Penny and the Worship Team did a fantastic job. The words resonated in my heart the first time I heard it at 8:30. But, it struck me at 10:00 in the Worship Center. We sing hallelujah, we sing hallelujah, we sing hallelujah, the Lamb has overcome! How could I sit and sing? I couldn’t stay seated any longer and neither could the room. We stood, singing and proclaiming truth. Death where is your sting? Our Resurrected King has rendered you defeated! He is risen; He is alive! This is the message of Resurrection Day – the essential belief of every Christ follower.
Why is the resurrection such a big deal?
The resurrection demonstrates the acceptance of Christ’s sacrifice (Romans 4:23-25).
The resurrection demonstrates the power of God. The power to forgive sin (1 Corinthians 15:16-17) and the power over death (Romans 6:9).
Christ’s resurrection proves His divinity (Romans 1:4).
Christ’s resurrection guarantees the believer’s resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:20-22).
We’re empowered to live the Christians life because of Christ’s resurrection (Romans 8:11).
The power of the resurrection isn’t reserved for just one day a year. For the Christ follower, the Spirit of the One who raised Christ now lives in you. We are children of the resurrection. That’s daily living and that’s stuff worth standing for and shouting about!
