Here’s a great story of a church doing something different in Cape Coral, Florida. The economy has created a spotted landscape of foreclosed homes in town. Church members of the Cape Coral Community Church have volunteered to pull weeds, mow lawns, and trim up the shrubbery in order to clean up the abandoned properties. While this is a departure from their regular outreach activities, adjacent property owners to these foreclosed properties are thankful for the church’s investment in the community. They’ve decided to take responsibility for their neighborhoods. What a great concept!
