Praying for Renewal – God Bless America

America is a land of dreams, realized and forged by the hopes of her citizens. We exist in unprecedented times – the dark age of terror embroiled in financial upheaval. While these days seem hard, there is one thing for which I am assured. The God we love, serve, worship and adore has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is sovereign, He is our redemption, and He is our strength. We live in a great nation at a time of great need. Our nation needs Christ, each and every inhabitant. We must pray for this nation, but we must begin by praying for ourselves.

“God revive the cold, disenchanted, and fearful hearts of your people. Change our hearts, forgive us, as we confess our sin. For there is none without the stain of sin; we are filthy, Lord. Restore your people once again; empower us with an urgency and passion for the empty, the helpless, the lost, and the hopeless. We weep over our condition; we weep for our city. Lord, Jesus, save our city; save our land. May your Spirit captivate your Bride and convict those who know you not yet. Empower your church and embolden your children. We need you Jesus; we love you, Jesus.”

But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep.” John 19:41 (NLT)
