Hell, Fire and Damnation

Here’s another clip of Billy Graham. This is from a crusade in 1971. It’s interesting to think this was nearly 28 years ago; he could have been preaching it today. While I think he takes some liberty in the interpretation of the text, I believe his premise is correct. Succumbing to sin creates progressively devastating consequences. The compounded effect often isn’t realized until one hits rock bottom.

We desperately need renewal among people of faith. We (Christians) have permitted both willingly and unwillingly behaviors and beliefs to permeate our lives which stand as an offense before the holiness of God. We no longer blush where we ought to be ashamed. Sin is a cancer bringing decay to the mission and passion of the church. It is destroying the body. Maybe we need to hear more sermons about the holiness of God and the sinfulness of man.
