Jesus is Coming Back

Jesus’ return is closer today than it was yesterday. Even though we’re observing events transpiring around the globe that cause us to contemplate His return, don’t be alarmed. When will Jesus come back? I don’t know the day or time, nobody does, but He is coming back. You can be confident in that fact. Read Matthew 24:4-8, “Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.7 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.8 But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”

Already many people have come claiming to be the messiah. We watch in disbelief and yet others believe. We even have someone in our area who claims to be the second coming of Christ. Just listen to the news about the many rumors of wars. Did you hear about the recent terrorist attacks in India? Watch for the formation of new global alliances like the one between Russia and Venezuela. People are choosing sides strategically. What about the recent earthquakes in Arkansas and Dallas? All this stuff just makes you think, doesn’t it? I don’t recite this information to scare you, but to encourage you.

As Christians we can’t become complacent about our commission. We are to tell the story of Jesus to anyone and everyone who will listen. Sometimes we get too busy with our own lives that we forget about the lives of others. Both as individual believers and collectively as the Church, we must keep the main thing the main thing. Let us not forget out purpose and our commission! Jesus is coming back!
